Queen of the Netherlands tours Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Jan 9, 2012 (WAM) - Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, visited here yesterday the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. She was accompanied during the tour by Prince Willem-Alexander, Crown Prince of the Netherlands and his wife Princess Maxima and other senior officials. Queen Beatrix visited the library of the Zayed Grand Mosque and the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, adjacent to the Mosque. She expressed her admiration of the Mosque as a huge Islamic landmark. Her Majesty was received by Yusuf Al Obaidli, Director of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre and other officials. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which belongs to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, is sponsored by H. H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. It is the nucleus of the cultural and intellectual activities. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
