UAE condemns terrorist blasts in Iraq

Abu Dhabi, Jan 16, 2012 (WAM) - The UAE has strongly condemned strings of terrorist explosions which rocked several Iraqi cities, killing and wounding scores of innocent people. ''The UAE condemns these irresponsible acts which aim to sow seeds of sedition and sectarian conflicts,'' Dr. Tareq Al Haidan, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, said in a statement yesterday. ''The UAE is urging all spectrum of Iraqi community to exert more efforts towards national reconciliation for the sake of security and stability in the region''. He expressed the UAE's support for Iraq to combat extremism and terrorism. The UAE also sent heart-felt condolences to families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to those injured in these criminal acts. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
