‘Oil embargo on Iran meant to influence parliamentary polls’

TEHRAN, Jan. 28 (MNA) – The leader of this week’s Friday prayers in Tehran said that the oil embargo on Iran by the European Union is meant to influence the parliamentary election, which is scheduled to be held on March 2. Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami also said that European countries have in fact imposed sanctions on themselves because they are in grip of financial difficulties and oil embargo against Iran will aggravate their problems.
