Iranian actor Entezami’s house to be converted into museum

TEHRAN,Jan.31(MNA) -- Veteran actor of stage and screen Ezzatollah Entezami handed over his house to the Tehran Municipality to convert it into a museum. The house will be transferred over to Tehran’s district one Mayor Alireza Javid who will handle the final arrangements, Entezami told on Monday. “We have moved to another location and (stage director) Behruz Gharibpur will be collaborating in designing the interior of the house. One more floor will be added for movie screenings and theater performances,” he added. The 450m house is located in Qeitarieh neighborhood in northern Tehran and dates back 50 years. “We moved into this house just at the time the film ‘The Cow’ (Dariush Mehrjuii’s second feature-length film (1969) went on screen in Tehran theaters,” Entezami had earlier told in summer. “Most of the primary talks about the movies I have played in had taken place in the yard of this house. Many (filmmakers) like Naser Taqvaii, Ali Hatami, and Bahman Farmanara used to come here for primary talks. “I have old memoirs here and I don’t want to see them ruined. I could sell this house for a very high price but I don’t want this to happen. My children do not need the money, so this house will be remembered with all its memoirs. “There are many precious things here that can not be found elsewhere. I have lived here for 40 years have always wished for this house to be dedicated to artistic activities,” he had said. Entezami made his acting debut in “The Spring Variety” directed by Parviz Khatibi in 1949. However, he shot to fame in 1969 for his part in the acclaimed film “The Cow.” He has starred in over 50 movies and won many awards in national and international events.
