Military intervention in Syria will put region on fire: Iran’s FM

TEHRAN, Feb. 5 (MNA) – Iran’s foreign minister warns that any military intervention in Syria will be tantamount to putting the whole region on fire. “Military intervention in Syria will lead to an explosion of the entire region and (it will be) a dangerous plot for the future of the region,” Ali Akbar Salehi told the Lebanese al-Manar TV which was aired on Sunday. Salehi also expressed surprise as the Arab League submitted the Syria case to the UN Security Council. So far Russia and China, as two veto wielding powers at the UN, have blocked attempts by the Western powers to adopt a resolution against Syria at the Security Council. “Russia and China are aware of the Westerners’ plots for the future of the region and are acting vigilantly in this case,” the top Iranian diplomat noted.
