Iran shows off new domestic technology

TEHRAN, Feb.7 (MNA) – During a ceremony attended by Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi in Tehran on Monday, a number of domestically manufactured electronic, optical, and telecommunications systems were unveiled. The unveiling came hot on the heels of the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations (February 1-11) commemorating the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. During the ceremony, Vahidi said that nine production lines for the hi-tech systems, including advanced laser systems for guiding a type of artillery gun, electronic guidance systems of a kind of anti-armor missile, laser warning systems for preventing planes straying into Iran’s no-fly zones, three types of advanced radar systems, and a kind of microwave tube, have been inaugurated thanks to the efforts of Iranian specialists who are sources of pride for the country. He said, “Four important projects in the area of electronic warfare, including simulation, data collection, interference, and radar have also been completed and will enter into mass production phase in the near future.” Iran’s capabilities in these areas would be significantly enhanced with these products, the defense minister said. He went on to say that the important measures in the field of electronic technology, optics and telecommunications, which have been thoroughly implemented by Iranian specialists, are a clear manifestation of self-confidence and an important measure in line with neutralizing the sanctions imposed by the enemies. In conclusion, he congratulated the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation on the remarkable achievements and appreciated the efforts of skillful forces of the country’s defense industry.
