Swiss, Swedish, Iranian musicians team up for concerts at Fajr festival
TEHRAN,Feb.7(MNA) -- The Bazaarpool Ensemble, a four member group of artists from Iran, Switzerland, and Sweden, will perform during 27th Fajr International Music Festival.
They will give performances on February 15 and 16 at Tehran’s Eyvan-e Shams Hall to compete at the Fajr International Music Festival.
Iranian harpist Asita Hamidi from Iran, Bassist Björn Meyer on Ac-Bass, Upright Bass from Sweden, drummer Kaspar Rast and Bruno Amstad who is an expert on vocal and human sound effects from Switzerland are the members of the ensemble.
Bazaarpool is a platform for musical collaboration and exchange of ideas across borders, cultures and traditions. Started by Asita Hamidi and Björn Meyer in 2003, it works as a community of musicians from Scandinavia, Switzerland, India and Egypt - growing around the world - sharing music, experiences and ideas in various configurations.
Each setting and repertoire gets its own distinct flavor depending on the instrumentation and musical personalities involved. Drawing from the unique blend of each member's original compositions and traditions, every project is a gem in its own right and Bazaarpool provides the space for such projects to grow and develop over long periods of time.
The 27th Fajr International Music Festival will be held from February 13 to 19 in Tehran.
