Iranian reformist predicts 70% voter turnout in parliamentary polls

TEHRAN, Feb. 13 (MNA) - A member of the central council of the National Confidence Party predicts that about 70 percent of people will turn out in the parliamentary elections on March 2. “I think that 70 percent of eligible voters will attend the polling stations,” Mohammad Baqer Zakeri told . Zakeri, who will be campaigning for a seat in the parliament from the constituency of Ghouchan, said the massive rallies in Tehran on the Bahman 22nd (February 11), shows that a large number of people will take part in the elections. “The same people who participated in the Bahman 22nd rallies will also participate in the election.” However, the cleric candidate said the voter turnout in big cities would be a little less than smaller cities but not to the extent that some are claiming.
