$2.6b fraud case trial should be broadcast live: Iranian MPs

TEHRAN, Feb. 15 (MNA) – In a letter to the judge overseeing the $2.6 billion financial fraud case published on Tuesday, Iranian MPs Ahmad Tavakkoli and Elyas Naderan called for the first court session in the trial of the defendants, which will be held on February 18, to be broadcast live. The MPs also said that the punishment should be proportional to the crime and called on judicial officials to seriously deal with those involved regardless of their positions to help restore public confidence.
