Iran wins Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships

TEHRAN,Feb.18(MNA)_Iran claimed gold at the 2012 Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships held at Gumi, South Korea on Friday. The Iranian team won three gold medals, one silver and a bronze, finishing in first place with 54 points. China came second with 51 points and South Korea finished at third place with 47 points. In the 74kg weight class, Hadi Alizadeh defeated Takehiro Kanakubo from Japan and won the gold medal. Habibollah Akhlaghi beat Besiki Saldadze from Uzbekistan in the 84kg class and claimed the gold. Davoud Gilnirang also seized the gold after defeating Chinese Xiao Di in 96kg. The 2012 Asian Wrestling Championships are underway in Gumi, South Korea.
