New selections from “Divan of Shams” being translated into English

TEHRAN,Feb.23(MNA) -- Iranian translator Saeid Saeidpur is translating a selection from the “Divan of Shams” into English. He tried to select several poems by Rumi in his collection to convey the deep meaning and teachings of the great poet as well as its vitality to non-Persian audiences. He has also translated 77 poems by Ahmad Shamlu from different collections which have recently been released by the Jeyhun Publications. The “Divan of Shams” was previously translated into English by great scholars and translators like R.A. Nicholson and A.J. Arberry. Saeidpur has also translated a selection of poetry from classic and modern poets including Hafez, Sadi, Khayyam, Nima Yushij, and Qeisar Aminpur.
