Iranian candidates under banner of ‘Great Coalition of Principlists’ stop campaigning

TEHRAN, Feb. 26 (MNA) – Iran`s Parliament contender Hassan Ghafouri Fard said the candidates on his election list have stopped campaigning under the banner of “the Great Coalition of Principlists” because Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani and Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi have expressed displeasure over the “name” of the coalition. He dismissed the news reports claiming that his list had been dissolved, saying if he fails to win the agreement of the ayatollahs then either the name of the list would change or the candidates would continue campaigning on other lists. Ghafouri Fard, who was on the top of list of the Great Coalition of Principlists, promised to announce the final decision at a press conference on Sunday.
