Iranian musician Davud Azad to perform concerts in Canada, Bahamas

TEHRAN,Feb.26(MNA) -- The sounds of musical instruments played by musician Davud Azad will echo in cities from Iran to Canada and the Bahamas in the Iranian New Year, which will begin on March 21.
The vocalist and composer plans to give solo performances in the Canadian cities of Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa as well as the Iranian cities of Tabriz, Gorgan and Hamedan, as he informed but without mentioning the exact dates for his performances.
He said that he will use the tonbak, bass guitar and drums during his performances and he will also improvise on the oud.
He also stressed on the importance of the oud as a Persian musical instrument saying that he would like to give solo performances on the instrument.
He said that he would perform mystical songs with the setar during a concert in the Bahamas on June 18.
His music brings the ecstatic joy experienced by Sufis while reciting their supplications into a universal audible language of love and unity for all mankind.
Azad is also involved in musical collaborative works with western as well as eastern musicians and his latest work is a fusion of Sufi music with blues music.
