Iran to send 1-ton satellite into space in 10 years

TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (MNA) – Iranian Aerospace Industry Organization Director Mehdi Farahi said on Tuesday that Iran plans to launch satellites weighing about 1 ton in 10 years.
Farahi said that Iran has made great achievements in the aerospace industry.
Iran has so far sent several satellites into space.
On February 8, Iran received the first Navid image sent by the domestically manufactured research satellite called Navid-e Elm and San’at (Promise of Science and Technology).
The satellite was sent into space aboard the Safir rocket on February 3.
Iran had already sent two satellites, namely the Omid (Hope) and the Rasad (Observation) into space.
