Iran’s Zob Ahan wins Intercontinental Sitting Volleyball Cup

TEHRAN,March 11(MNA) -- Iran’s Zob Ahan claimed the Intercontinental Sitting Volleyball Cup title on Friday night. The Iranian representative exhibited a good performance against host Egypt and clinched the title championship by posting 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-21) on the board. “We did well in the tournament and I am satisfied with the way my guys played. Iran used the tournament as preparation for London 2012 Paralympics,” said Hadi Rezaei, Iran's sitting volleyball coach. In the bronze medal match, Russia defeated Germany 3-1 and finished in third place. A total of 16 men’s teams and eight women's teams took part in the competitions held in Cairo.
