Shura Council Speaker receives Chinese delegation

Manama, Nov6(BNA) Shura Council President Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh has today held talks with the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng, who is accompanied by a high-profile delegation on a visit to Bahrain. The Shura Council Speaker stressed Bahrain's keen interest to develop bilateral relations and boost joint cooperation in all sectors, including legislative ties. He commended the economic leverage and pivotal political role in the international arena, which contributed to maintaining world security and stability. He highlighted Bahrain's resolve to bolster relations, describing His Majesty the King's historic visit to China as reflecting the Kingdom's firm determination to build sold ties. The two sides discussed investment projects, stressing particularly Chinese products, sustained development, cultural cooperation and scientific research. The meeting was attended by Shura Council First Deputy Speaker Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Second Deputy Speaker Dr. Bahiya Jawad Al-Jishi, heads of committees and members. A H N
