Late Shaikh Faisal Arabian Horseshow starts on Tuesday

Manama, Feb 16 (BNA) -- Under the Patronage of HM the King’s Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, BREEF organises the Late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Arabian Horseshow on February 17-18 at the Military Sports Association in Raffah. Shaikh Nasser said the BREEF organises the championship for the sixth year in a row, in memory of the Late Shaikh Faisal who had immensely appreciated equestrian sports and horseshows. He added that organising the championship on a yearly basis is a great responsibility that contributes to maintaining the sports of the ancestors and supports local Arabian horse breeders. The events will start at 3:30 pm to include eight categories on the first day and seven on the second day. First Day Schedule - First Contest - Mares aged one year (11 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2013 and 30/9/2014) - Second Contest – Mares aged one year (List B) (11 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2013 and 30/9/2014) - Third Contest – Mares aged two years (11 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2012 and 30/9/2013) - Fourth Contest - Mares aged two years (12 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2012 and 30/9/2013) - Fifth Contest - Mares aged three years (13 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2011 and 30/9/2012) - Sixth Contest - Mares aged between 4 and 6 years (10 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2008 and 30/9/2011) - Seventh Contest Mares aged between 7 and 8 years (8 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2006 and 30/9/2008) - Eighth Contest - Mares aged above 9 years (9 contesters) – (Born before 1/10/2006) Second Day Schedule - First Contest - Mares aged one year (7 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2013 and 30/9/2014) - Second Contest – Mares aged two years (9 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2013 and 30/9/2014) - Third Contest - Mares aged three years (11 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2011 and 30/9/2012) - Fourth Contest – Stallions aged between 4 and 6 years (13 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2008 and 30/9/2011) - Fifth Contest Stallions aged between 7 and 8 years (5 contesters) – (Born between 1/10/2006 and 30/9/2008) - Sixth Contest - Stallions aged above 9 years (13 contesters) – (Born before 1/10/2006) Shaikh Nasser gave directives to appoint BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa as the Head of the Supreme Organising Committee. The championship will be aired on Bahrain Sports Channel.
