ONE COMPOSITE LICENCE FOR BUSINESSES UNDER ONE ROOF IN KL
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Wednesday
announced several "business-friendly" measures to further improve its delivery
system.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Ahmad Fuad Ismail said the measures included making it
easier for applicants to apply for composite licence, like in the case of hotels
and hypermarkets which had various businesses under their roofs.
Under the new system, effective next month, only one business licence needed
to be applied by the hotel or hypermarket owners for all businesses in their
premises, he told reporters at a function with the media here.
He said traders would also be allowed to carry out their respective
businesses pending approval of their licence applications, unlike previously
when they could do so only after obtaining the licence.
Ahmad Fuad said DBKL had also agreed to either give exemption or reduce the
compound fine imposed on traders who failed to renew their business licence
before Dec 31, 2008, depending on the seriousness of their cases.
The traders had until end of the month to renew their respective business
licences, he added.
