Parliament Speaker Z.Enkhbold to chair ASEP9

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of parliament Z.Enkhbold will chair the 9th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP) that kicked off Thursday in the State House, Ulaanbaatar. To continue until April 23, this year’s meeting will have a general theme “Role of Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership in ASEM”, and two sub-meetings will be organized with titles “Effective multilateral relations and cooperation” and “Partnership for future”. Some 150 delegates of 32 countries including Mongolia have confirmed to participate in the ASEP9. The ASEP9 has attracted parliament Speakers of India, Thailand and Italy; Vice Speakers of Australia, Poland, Hungary, Vietnam, Indonesia, Finland, Italy (House of Representatives) and Spain. At the end of the meeting, a declaration will be approved which will reflect role and participation of parliamentarians in the ASEP’s role and in further cooperation between the two continents. In accordance with the meeting’s regime, the declaration will be presented at the 11th ASEM Summit. In scope of the preparations for the ASEP9, a national committee has been set up by an ordinance of the parliament Speaker, and a Vice Speaker R.Gonchigdorj has been appointed as the committee. The Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Office B.Boldbaatar has been selected as a chair of a working group as well.
