PM wants government work to be publicised through app

BANGKOK, April 26 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha wants the work of his government to be publicised through application programs, so that people will not be trapped in conflicts. Gen Prayut expressed the demand while meeting start-up entrepreneurs before a cabinet meeting at Government House on April 26. The meeting was aimed at promoting the Startup Thailand 2016 fair set at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok from April 28 to May 1. The fair will present the use of application programs to promote businesses including those concerning lifestyle products, foods, health care and medical services, education, and financial and insurance services. The prime minister told relevant authorities that people should know more about the achievements of his government through the use of application programs. By this means, people would not be trapped in conflicts, he said. The prime minister also saw the sample of Agri-Map or the map that gathers real-time information of all agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. It includes data on water, soil, plants, fisheries, marketing, logistics, land use and farmers' registration. The prime minister recommended the integration of information from the government sector and the private sector. (TNA)
