PM arrived in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, April 27 (TNA) --Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his delegation arrived at the Wing 41 in Chiang Mai province at 9am on April 27. His delegation included Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda and Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chatchai Sarikulya. Gen Prayut went to the Royal Park Rajapruek to discuss support for royal development projects and their outcomes. Then he visited a royal project produce center in Mae Hia sub-district of Muang Chiang Mai district. Available at the center are temperate vegetables and fruits grown by hill tribe people who were advised to stay away from poppies. In the afternoon the prime minister will preside over a ceremony to honor government officials in Mae Chaem district for outstanding performances to solve smoke haze. On the occasion he will also deliver 15 farm trucks to farmers of Hang Dong district and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will hand 22-million-baht financial aid to drought-affected farmers. Authorities will also present land use permits to allow people to live in or benefit from forest reserves in the Mae Chaem Forest and the Fang River basin. Local residents will also officially accept 11 artesian wells, a reservoir and water distribution systems from the government for their survival in the dry season. The prime minister will also follow up the implementation of government projects to cope with smoke haze and drought and to improve the living quality of local residents. (TNA)
