GEC registers 69 independent candidates for parliamentary elections

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The General Election Commission (GEC) reported Monday that it has registered 69 independent candidates to run for the forthcoming parliamentary elections after processing application materials of 74 people. "Some applicants failed registration because they did not collect all the necessary materials to submit to the GEC due to some problems in ID number, some applicants even have their documents signed by their relatives,” the GEC says. The confirmed candidates will compete in 37 constituencies in aimags and the capital city’s districts. They will receive the candidates’ certificates and the overall list of candidates will be released on Tuesday.
