Investors flock to Nakheel 'Open Days'
Dubai, February 4, 2009 (WAM) - Nakheel, Dubai's master developer, yesterday released visitor numbers for its community open event held last week. In total, almost 2,000 visitors (1,910 people) responded to the invitation to find out more about progress made at Nakheel's Al Furjan, Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Islands and Jumeirah Park communities in New Dubai, and at Marina Residences on Palm Jumeirah.
Beginning at the Al Furjan Sales Centre, investors and visitors were encouraged to tour a total of more than 10 show villas across the developments, and also see the progress being made on infrastructure, construction, finishing and landscaping on each site.
Nakheel's Chief Executive, Chris O'Donnell said: "At Nakheel, our focus this year is on delivery. That's why we made a decision to communicate with future Nakheel homeowners in the most tangible way possible - letting them come and see for themselves the progress being made on the ground.
"We had a great response to our invitation, which illustrates our commitment to those who have made a similar pledge to us - by investing in Nakheel homes and communities." Jumeirah Park homeowners were the single largest group to attend, with 341 owners visiting over the four days. Friday 30 January and Saturday 31 January 2009 were, unsurprisingly, the most popular days for attendees, with 637 and 645 visitors respectively.
Manal Shaheen, Director of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service at Nakheel, said: "In this year alone, thousands of families will move into their homes across Nakheel's new communities. Having so many of our current investors spend time with us - and get a first hand taste of what life will be like at each development - was a very valuable experience for us and for them. It has helped us find out more about what our future residents want to know about their homes. We were also pleasantly surprised by the numbers of other interested parties who took this opportunity to find out more about our communities." At Jumeirah Village, the handover of villas and town houses is underway, with the delivery of 2,200 homes phased for release throughout the year. Twenty-four ultra-luxury villas at Jumeirah Island Mansions are set for handover this spring. Jumeirah Park is also on track, with 900 homeowners set to take up occupancy in 2009; ninety per cent of infrastructural works complete across the development, and villa construction 30 per cent finalised. At family-focused Al Furjan, 8 show villas are open for viewing, with handover of the first properties on schedule for late 2010.
