New water reservoir to boost water supplies in Sharjah
Sharjah, February 9, 2009 (WAM) - Sharjah Electricity Water Authority (SEWA) will commence the operation of a giant water reservoir in the Halwan region to boost the water supply in the emirate.
The 15mn gallon reservoir built at a cost of AED 45mn is an addition to the existing water reservoirs with a total capacity of 22.5mn gallons.
The new reservoir will pump more water to all corners of the emirate, thus eliminating any scarcity in drinking water.
Acting Director of the Water department at SEWA Esam Amin Al Mulla said that the new reservoir will enhance the already strong water supply network in the emirate and will be an added capacity to face the coming summer.
