Brunei official praises Sheikha Fatima's initiatives
Abu Dhabi, February 9, 2009 (WAM) - Wife of Brunei's Minister of Education and Head of Welfare Association (BISTARI), Hajah Edah binti Haji Mohammed Noor has praised efforts made by HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women's Union (GWU), in development and advancement of UAE family.
''Sheikha Fatima is a gift from the heaven to UAE people, she said during a meeting with GWU Director Noura Al Suweidi yesterday.
Noor, who is leading a delegation from her country, said Sheikha Fatima's initiatives had qualified UAE women to join different sectors in the local labour market.
''Women of the world look at UAE women with admire given their high profile presence at international gatherings," she added.
Founded 26 years ago, the BISTARI is a social organisation working in various areas. It sponsors 300 students at Holy Quran memorisation centres.
