UAE strengthens business relations with Germany
Abu Dhabi, February 10, 2009 (WAM) - His Excellency Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shihhi, Director General of the UAE Ministry of Economy, welcomed Her Excellency Katja Hessel, Vice Minister in the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, today, in Dubai.
They discussed the economic ties between the UAE and Germany, and ways to enhance trade, co-operation and investments.
They also evaluated the impact of the global financial crisis on the economic performance of both countries. The German delegate was briefed on the steps taken by the UAE government to tackle the effect of the crisis on the UAE markets, and the plans and initiatives launched by the Ministry of Economy.
The discussions focused on exploring opportunities in various economic sectors in both the UAE and Germany, by strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences.
Al Shihhi said the Ministry of Economy will enhance cooperation with Germany to further strengthen exchange of investments between the two countries.
