UAE President swears in new six UAE envoys to friendly countries

Abu Dhabi, February 10, 2009 (WAM) - President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan swore in yesterday six new UAE Ambassadors to friendly countries at Al Bateen Palace in the presence of H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Sheikh Khalifa urged the new envoys to assume their assignment faithfully to enhance the UAE standing before the international community.

"We see you qualified for the confidence and we hope that you will give the service of the nation and its citizen a top priority,'' the President said addressing the diplomats.

Sheikh Khalifa wished them success in discharging their duty of serving UAE interests with countries of the world.

The new ambassadors pledged to work hard and diligently to boost relations of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and other countries, keeping in mind the prominent place of the UAE worldwide and its wise policy.

The ambassadors thanked the President for the confidence he vested on them.

The ambassadors who took the oath of office were Rashid Nasser Al Dhahiri to Nigeria, Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutawiee to UK, Mohammed Ali Omran Al Shamsi to Thailand, Asim Mirza Al Rahma to Poland, Yaqoub Yusouf Al Hosani to Romania and Mohammed Abdullah Al Ghafli to Canada.

A number of Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials attended the oath-taking ceremony.
