TAPCO starts commercial operations at Taweelah
Abu Dhabi, February 12, 2009 (WAM) - Taweelah Asia Power Company (TAPCO) announced yesterday the commence of commercial operations at its Taweelah B power plant in Abu Dhabi.
The Dh 10 billion plus plant will have a production capacity of 2000 MW and 160 MIGD, a company press release said.
The Taweelah B Independent Water and Power Project is the fifth and the largest IWPP developed in Abu Dhabi under the Government of Abu Dhabi's highly successful programme for the privatisation of the water and power sector being carried out by Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA).
The project was executed by a consortium of Japanese, Malaysian and US companies.
