Unprecedented participation at IDEX 2009: Hamed bin Zayed
HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Chairman of the Higher Corporation of Specialised Economic Zones (ZonesCorp), said huge unprecedented participation of advanced countries, major world defence industries, experts, military and political leaders at the IDEX 2009 "reflects the UAE's sound course and ability to organise world-class event".
He told Dira' Al Watan magazine (Nation's Shield Magazine) in a statement, which will be published in the daily bulletin at the IDEX, that the sponsorship of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the event "shows strategic trend of our leadership who seeks to boost cooperation between the UAE and other world countries, as well as building strong partnership with the world defence companies to ensure supply of arms to the UAE Armed Forces to maintain security and stability equation in the region".
Sheikh Hamed said that the military exhibition industry, which has been enjoying support from Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, has earned the country long experience in organising the international military exhibitions, adding that surging of UAE national pavilions at the defence exhibitions reflects important role of private sector and national capital, which play strategic role on Emiratisation of advanced military technology.
He reiterated that the UAE is proud of its youth at the UAE Armed Forces who display high skills and efficiency in dealing with the latest and advanced military technology.
