Mohammed Bin Zayed expressed satisfaction at growing UAE-Turkish cooperation

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces yesterday expressed satisfaction at the growing cooperation and relations between UAE-Turkey.
He further underscored the exchange of defence and military expertise as a way to advance the efficiency of their armed forces and achieve an optimal level of joint action and coordination to ultimately realize the aspirations of the governments of the two countries.
Sheikh Mohammed made his remarks as he received Turkish Defence Minister Vecdi Gonul and members of the Turkish delegation who are on a current visit to the UAE to attend the opening today of the 9th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2009).
Welcoming Gonul and members of the Turkish delegation at the Qasr Al Bahr Palace, Sheikh Mohammed hailed the growing cooperation between the UAE and Turkey in the areas of defence and security, Sheikh Mohammed noted the significant role Turkey is playing to protect security and stability in the region.
The meeting also discussed the defence exhibition industry such as IDEX 2009, being held amid fast-paced changes which has resulted in political and security challenges and dangers.
Present at the meeting were Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary at the Court of H.H the Crown Prince and Hakki Akil, Ambassador of Turkey to the UAE. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
