Mohammed Bin Zayed receives France's Guy Teissier

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces yesterday received Guy Teissier, President of the Defence Committee at the French National Assembly and members of the French National Assembly who are visiting the UAE on the occasion of the 9th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2009) which opens in Abu Dhabi today.
Sheikh Mohammed and Teissier discussed cooperation and relations between their two countries.
He further underscored the UAE's keen interest in driving bilateral relations with France to stronger cooperation and new wider venues based on the strong existing ties, reciprocal respect and understanding as well as common interests.
The meeting also discussed the significance of defence shows and their role in providing a platform for senior military officials and politicians to engage in consultations and discussions on ways to further strengthen relations and view the latest in defence technology and equipment.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed appreciation of support the French presence render to IDEX 2009 through their presence and participation.
Present at the meeting were Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Undersecretary at the H.H the Crown Prince's Court and French Ambassador to the UAE Alain Azouaou. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
