IDEX one of the most important world defence exhibitions: Mohammed bin Zayed

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has hailed quantity and quality progress being registered by the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX).
He added that IDEX 2009 has wooed major world major companies, which manufacture the latest defence and security systems despite effects of the World Financial Crisis, as well international experts and specialists, military and political leaders.
Sheikh Mohammed said in a statement that the IDEX has become one of the conspicuous defence exhibitions, indicating that its economic and scientific feasibility is tangible with multi-dimensions. Launched 15 years ago, he added the IDEX has grown steadily to become hub for world defence industries.
He noted that the UAE under President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has adopted a strategic approach to extend bridges of cooperation and friendship with different peoples worldwide.
"We are keen to build strong partnership between the UAE and prestigious world defence companies to ensure supply of the latest weapons and military equipment to the UAE Armed Forces to preserve security, peace and stability in the Gulf and the Middle East", Sheikh Mohammed said.
He thanked the organising committee of IDEX, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the UAE Armed Forces and others, on persevering to make IDEX 2009 a success. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
