SAS: the first Emirati company specialised in maintenance and repair for military sectors
Abu Dhabi, Feb. 24, 2009 (WAM) - SAS LLC (Special Advanced Systems LLC) is a newly established company formed by a joint venture between Tawazun Holdings Company LLC - An Offset Program Bureau Company and Advanced Integrated Systems - It was created to become a leading, world class maintenance and repair business, serving both the Military and the civil sectors.
The company prides itself on its Emirati highly skilled team, who have many years of experience in the technical field, offering specialist advice and superior quality services for its clients in both the Military and the Civil sectors.
SAS believing that privacy and security should never optional, it operates from a secure zone in the "Umm Al Nar" district of Abu Dhabi; the location guarantees a high level of privacy and security for its customers.
Engineer Khalfan AL Mansouri, CEO of SAS declared that the company currently operates in the field of maintenance, reparation, and offering the Technical support and engineering consultations in both the military and civil fields. We intend over the next few years to expand our business dramatically to cover the regional and international markets, he added. The company currently has six main divisions, namely (Electronic and electrical division, Mechanical division which has the capability of fabricating Fibre-glass moulds and painting, Weapons maintenance and repairs division, Optical division, Submersible diving vehicle division, Research and development division which has An Engineering design department).
Engineer Khalfan AL Mansouri has also mentioned that SAS is currently developing new divisions that aim at offering high quality services for its clients such as Costumer Service Division which is specialized in conducting the operations of receiving the equipments and devices which needs repairing from the clients and resend them to the specialized divisions.
Besides, it carries out the follow up of the work done by the workshops and updates the clients with the maintenance operations done. Another division is the Public Safety Division which is specialized in offering the periodical awareness about the safety and making sure that all the employees are following the international safety conditions and requirements in addition to carrying out periodical inspection for the safety equipments in the workshop. Moreover, the company is working on establishing a Technical Library specialized in the Military Systems and Technologies, which is intended to be a solid technical base capable of offering engineering designs which will be the kernel of the local production for technologies and products which serve the UAE.
AL Mansouri said: "the services offered by SAS can be summed up in Repair and maintenance work across a wide range of highly technical equipment, Specialist on-going technical support and advice on existing and new product ranges, Provision of research and development services for defence equipment, Evaluation of the operational requirements from a technical perspective to support the clients' procurement system, Identify technical specifications for systems and products for use in procurement, and/or development of the systems and products required by the clients, as well as identifying standards for training and technical support, Examining and analyzing comparison between purchasing new equipment or developing the existing ones and Minimizing dependence on foreign products by establishing a solid technical base, capable of designing, engineering and manufacturing products and technologies locally.
As for the "Emaratisation", Engineer Al Mansouri said that the percentage of the Emirati nationals in the company is 98% and that they are all highly qualified and trained and have many years of experience in the Technical field, the matter which makes SAS staff one of the elite specialist in the field of maintenance and engineering consultations, adding that the company is always carrying out training courses for the staff in order to increase the quality of the services offered by the company.
