UN body lauds UAE, Dubai's anti-drugs efforts
Dubai, Feb. 24, 2009 (WAM) - The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), the UN organisation that monitors anti-drug activities worldwide, has praised the efforts made by the UAE to fight drug abuse and trafficking.
It also made a special mention to the 'Dubai Statement' on strategic planning and cooperation in the monitoring of drug abuse and trafficking which was issued recently during a seminar organized by Dubai Police.
INCB expressed in its annual report, released this week, its appreciation to" the will of the Government of the United Arab Emirates to fight drug abuse and trafficking, and noted in particular the progress achieved by the Government in the implementation of the recommendations made by the Board.
The Board urged further efforts to strengthen drug control.
