Hamdan bin Zayed receives John Major
Abu Dhabi, February 26, 2009 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, received here yesterday the former British Prime Minister John major who is currently visiting the country.
Sheikh Hamdan and John Major discussed current regional and international developments and the efforts being made to bring about peace in the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by Sultan Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Chief of the Deputy Prime Minister's Court, Dhafir Al Ahbabi. Sheikh Hamdan's private advisor, and British Ambassador Edward Anthony Oakden.
Afterwards, Sheikh Hamdan received General Shajaat Zamirdar, Director of Logistics at the Pakistani Armed Forces, currently on a visit to attend the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2009).
Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the Pakistani official and reviewed with him ties of cooperation between the two countries.
General Shajaat praised the UAE for the progress achieved in organising major event such as IDEX.
