Anglican Bishop Lewis thanks UAE for religious freedom, tolerance
Abu Dhabi, March 2, 2009 (WAM) - The Rt. Reverend Michael Lewis, Anglican Bishop of Cyprus '&' the Gulf has expressed his gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for providing all facilities to the followers of his church to practice their faith in the country with full freedom.
Bishop Lewis further noted the atmosphere of tolerance, reciprocal love, harmony and cohesion prevailing among followers of different faiths and sects in the United Arab Emirates and its Muslim society.
Bishop Lewis made his remarks at a meeting yesterday with H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance.
The meeting discussed religious matters related to the Anglican Church and its followers in the United Arab Emirates and the region.
