Abdullah Bin Zayed participates in the GCC foreign ministers meeting

Riyadh, March 2, 2009 (WAM) - The foreign ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states started the 110th ordinary session of their ministerial meeting here at the GCC headquarters yesterday.
UAE's delegation to the meeting is led by Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Chairman of the current session and Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah asserted that GCC will always remain a support to its Arab brothers and will fortify the efforts of the Arab League in its march towards cooperation for achieving greater amount of joint work.
Addressing the opening session Bin Alawi said that the agenda includes a number of political issues, as well as topics related to joint cooperation in the fields of economy, security, military, education and environment.
He asserted that the meeting will help to evolve a joint vision towards a host of known issues.
The current meeting will also review the developments of the joint march of cooperation in various fields for achieving the ambitions of the people of GCC countries, Bin Alawi said.
Hailing the success of the Arab Economic, Social, and Development Summit in Kuwait held under the organisation of Emir of Kuwait HH Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, Bin Alawi alluded to the call made by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques HM King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia for adopting the methodology of understanding and reconciliation among Arab countries to protect the interests of the Arab nation.
His call also emphasised the major role of the GCC states in strengthening the pillars of the stability, security, growth and development.
Bin Alawi also hailed the efforts of Qatar in establishing peace in Darfur.
