Qatar Swimming Cup Kicks off Saturday

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - Qatar Swimming Association is organizing Qatar Swimming Cup in the long course (50m) on Saturday at Hamad Aquatic Center. The tournament includes five age categories: (10 years), (11-12 years), (13-14 years), (15-17 years), and general. The tournament will be held on morning and evening periods. The morning period includes 400m freestyle and 50m backstroke, while the afternoon period has 200m free, 200m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 450m freestyle. The evening period has 200m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 400m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 50m free, 100m backstroke, 450m freestyle and 1,500m free. Al Sadd won Qatar Swimming Championships, Al Arabi finished second and Al Gharafa finished third. On the other hand, swimmer Tamim Mohammed registered a new Qatari record in the 50m backstroke for 11-12 years with a time of 33:45 seconds at H2O Championship, held at Qatar Foundation's swimming pool.
