Qatar Elected Head of AEF's Regional Group 5

Doha, May 05 (QNA) - Qatar's Sheikh Abdullah bin Falih Al-Thani has been elected president of the 'Regional Group 5' of the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF), during the Federation's general assembly meeting held in Tehran under the Chairmanship of President of Asian and Qatari Equestrian Federations Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah. The AEF general assembly also decided that the Qatari capital Doha will host its next meeting in 2019 on the sidelines of Qatar Equestrian Federation's hosting of the Asian Dressage Championship. The general assembly also elected President of the Omani Equestrian Federation as president of AEF 'Regional Group 4'. The meeting discussed the AEF future plan to activate its role at the international level, as well as arrangements for equestrian competition during the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia, and the arrangements for the qualifiers for participating in Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. For his part, President of the Asian and Qatari Equestrian Federations, Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah said in remarks that the meetings were successful and saw discussions on a number of issues concerning equestrian sports in Asia. He added that the meetings were also well attended by representatives of national member associations. (QNA)
