Qatar Participates in 2018 Beach Handball World Championships

Basel, May 09 (QNA) - International Handball Federation (IHF) announced the final list of national teams participating in the 2018 Beach Handball World Championships, which will be held in the Russian city of Kazan from July 24 to 29. The list included 16 teams: Qatar, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Croatia, Spain, Hungary, Ireland, Oman, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, the U.S., Vietnam, Denmark and New Zealand. The draw will be held in Kazan on May 15, in the presence of IHF officials and representatives of the participating teams. The Qatari beach handball team has recently started preparations for the world championships. Qatar qualified for the world championships after winning the sixth Asian Championship in Thailand last year for the fourth time in a row. The Qatari team seeks to added a new achievement in the next edition, which will see the fifth consecutive participation in the World Championship after the 2010 edition in Turkey, where they finished in the tenth place, the 2012 edition in Oman, where they achieved the seventh place, the 2014 edition in Brazil where they came for the first time in the third place, and the final version 2016, which was held in Hungary and Qatar achieved third place.
