Dubai to host Global Education Forum on Tuesday

Under the patronage of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Global Education Forum (GEF) will open on Tuesday in Dubai with wide participation of educationists from around the world.
The three-day event is hosted simultaneously with Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) 2009 exhibition and will feature local and international speakers examining key issues affecting the education sector worldwide.
The Minister of education, HE Dr. Hanif Hassan said that the patronage by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid has enormously pushed GEF forward making it a major event in the field of education. This gives the ministry a challenge to come out with a more developed vision on the future of technical education, a vision that can be applied anywhere in the world. It should also work as a fundamental reference, to which any country can resort when reforming its educational system, added the minister.
Dr. Hanif Hassan made this comment while receiving the Tunisian Minister of Education Dr. Hatim Bin Salem and the accompanying delegation, and the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) Mohammed Al-Aziz Bin Abdel Malik.
The minister said that the Arab and other world countries have started to give wide attention to efforts of UAE in the avenue of educational development and modernisation of the educational infrastructure with regard to schools.
