UAE took third slot as world's largest supplier of propane
The UAE has emerged as the world's third largest supplier of propane on the heel of other OPEC members Saudi Arabia and Algeria, according to a Saudi economic report.
"Saudi Arabia took the lead as the global key producer controlling 20.2 per cent of the world propane exports in 2007, followed by Algeria with 10.5 per cent and the UAE at 8.7 per cent,'' said a report by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Region.
Total global propane exports in 2007 stood at US$ 22.1 billion, a growth of 20 per cent a year in the period spanning from 2003 to 2007.–
