GCC parliaments back UAE's rights to isles
Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) HE Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair affirmed yesterday that Arab countries expressed their support for the UAE's right to restore sovereignty over its three islands, occupied by Iran.
"What is demanded is to urge Iran to find sincere, true solutions and dragging its feet in reaching that settlement of the UAE islands of Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa,'' Al Ghurair said in a statement at the end of the coordinating meeting of the GCC parliaments hosted by Muscat on Saturday.
The meeting aimed at unifying and coordinating stances towards the agenda of the 15th conference of the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union (AIPU).
