Asian Games: Preparation Of Cycling Athletes On-Track

NILAI (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia) July 3 (Bernama) – The preparation of cycling athletes for the Asian Games in Indonesia this August is moving on-track with no issues or setbacks. National Sports Institute chairman Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi said he was very pleased with what he observed when visiting the team and track cycling head coach John Beasley at the National Velodrome in Nilai Tuesday. "According to the details I got from John Beasley, I am very pleased with the preparations which are going according to plan. "In addition, all the athletes have been provided with full facilities and all their needs taken care of. There are also full-time officers placed at the National Velodrome to look after their safety during training," said Abdul Azim, who is also Malaysia's Chef-de-Mission (CDM) for the Games. Meanwhile, national track cycling ace Mohd Azizulhasni Awang said he was looking forward to the Asian Games to make up for his poor performance due to illness at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, last April. -- BERNAMA
