Malaysia’s Challenge Fizzles Out In World Junior Team Squash Tournament

KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia crashed out from the World Junior Team Men’s Squash Championship following an unexpected 0-2 defeat to the sixth seed, Czech Republic in the quarter-finals match in Chennai, India on Friday. Malaysia, the fourth seed, were trailing after Siow Yee Xian lost 4-11, 10-12, 11-6 and 2-11 to Ondrej Vorlicek in the first match held at Express Avenue Mall, according to the tournament website;www.wsfworldjuniors.com. Viktor Byrtus secured the semi-finals berth for the European country by edging Darren Rahul Pragasam; winning 10-12, 11-8, 11-1 and 11-6 in the second match. Earlier, five-time champion, Egypt secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Hong Kong in another quarter-final match held at the same venue.
