Qatar Handball Team Qualify for Asian Games Final

Jakarta, August 27 (QNA) - Qatar handball team has reached the final of the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia, which will continue until September 2, after beating South Korea (27/20) in today's semifinal match. Qatar will play in the final on Friday with the winner of the second semi-final, scheduled between Japan and Bahrain later in the day. Qatar maintained lead in the first-half of the match, which ended in favor of Qatar with a difference of six goals 13/7, and despite the Korean attempts to return to the match in the second half, the Qatari team managed to maintain the lead and won the match. Qatar team is keen to maintain the gold medal won in the last edition of the Asian Games, held in Incheon, South Korea, after winning the final match against the hosting team Korea 24/21. Qatar handball team reached the semi-finals after leading Group A in the main round with three wins over Iraq 26/20, Saudi Arabia 28/23 and Japan 24/17. (QNA)
