Zayed maternity hospital in Kabul to be ready in three months
Abu Dhabi, March 15, 2009 (WAM) - Works on the 100 - bed Sheikh Zayed maternity and childcare hospital in Kabul will be completed in three months, a UAE diplomat said yesterday.
"About 80 per cent of construction works in the large humanitarian was completed, Mohammed Ahmed Al Othman, UAE Charge d' Affaires in Kabul, said after a tour of the project along with Afghani ministers of health and town development.
The two-storey health project was funded by the Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works. Work started before 18 months.
Afghani Health Minister Mohammad Amin Fatemi said the hospital would be fitted with the most advanced medical equipment.
''The hospital is expected to provide health services to hundreds of mothers and children on daily basis," he added.
