Japan Secures AFC Football U-16 Title For Third Time

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) — Japan won the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-16 Championship for the third time by defeating Tajikistan 1-0 in the final match held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here, Sunday night. Both teams were tied 0-0 at half-time. Jun Nishikawa scored the winning goal for Japan in the 62nd minute. Japan had won the same title twice -- 1994 and 2006. -- BERNAMA
