CEC CHAIRMAN MEETS MEMBERS OF AD HOC COMMITTEE TO OBSERVE REFERENDUM ON CONSTITUTIONAL REFORMS

Baku, March 17 (AzerTAc) Chairman of Azerbaijan Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov met with representatives of the Ad hoc Committee to observe the referendum on the constitutional reforms headed by representative of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Paul Wille.
Panahov said CEC places a special emphasis on observation mission in terms of ensuring transparency in elections, including referendum.
According to him, all polling stations have been equipped with necessary equipments.
The CEC chairman noted about 47 thousand local and 169 international observers will monitor the referendum. He also added favorable conditions were created for mass media representatives to get information from polling stations.
Panahov underscored 500 polling stations have been equipped with webcams to provide internet users with an opportunity to watch the voting online.
Panahov also briefed the Committee members on enlightenment program being carried out by CEC.
Paul Wille, in turn, thanked Mazahir Panahov for the warm welcome.
