Qatar Loses 1-3 to South Korea in Asia Youth Cup Semi-Final

Jakarta, November 01 (QNA) - The Qatari youth national team lost Thursday in the semi-final of the Asia youth cup 1-3 to South Korea, in the match that took place in Jakarta. South Korea will meet in the final with the winners of Japan and Saudi Arabia, who play later today. The final will take place on Sunday. In today's match, South Korea scored all three goals first as they blitzed the Qatari youngsters. They scored two goals in the first half (23rd and 33rd minute), and one goal in the second half (in the 47th minute.) Qatar tried to make a comeback and scored a goal through Tarek Ibrahim in the 52nd minute, but it ultimately proved to be a consolation. The Qatari team had topped Group A with six points. They lost the opening match to the UAE 1-2, before beating Indonesia 6-5, and China Taipei 4-0. In the quarter-finals, they defeated Thailand 7-3 after two periods of extra time. (QNA)
